Latin is an old dead language, which makes it understandably intimidating; yet, it has some pretty standard and straightforward rules. Once those are shown and recognized, it opens a whole new world of understanding to the herbalist/mycology enthusiast. For example, "binomial" literally means two names. Knowing common Latin terms tells you a lot about a species, and some of it is actually fairly intuitive. In this workshop you'll learn the basics of Latin grammatical forms and the etymology behind commonly used terms in a fun, interactive round table session, rather than a lecture with a PowerPoint.
