Mushroom Traditions with Fungiwoman: A Community Conversation with Barbora Batokova and Linda Conroy

This conversation aired live on June 19th, 2025 @ 7:00 PM CST On Zoom

The discussion was recorded and will be made available to those who were unable to attend live.

Join myco-herbalist Linda Conroy, MSS, MLSP, alongside author, photographer, and mycologist Barbora Botakova for a captivating conversation. Growing up in the Czech Republic, Barbora developed a deep connection with the world of mushrooms through her family. We will explore her journey of relocating to the United States, a move that initially took her away from her familial traditions, only to eventually rediscover them. This journey led her to write the book, "Hunting Mushrooms: How to Safely Identify, Forage and Cook Wild Fungi."

We will discuss insights from her book and her upcoming participation in the 9th Annual Mycelium Mysteries: Women's Mushroom Conference, which will be held in Rosholt, WI, from September 19th to 21st.

Attendees of the in-person event will have the opportunity to win a mushroom apron, a signed copy of Barbora's book, registration for the 9th Annual Mycelium Mysteries Conference, or access to Fungal Fundamentals on the Herb Women Classroom!
