Every Herbal Mystic needs to develop a skill set that serves her relationship with all of life. A skill set that deeply connects her to Nature and all Her mysteries. Learning how to create and engage in ritual, read an Oracle, communicate with the Devas of the plants in a mystical way are just as important as all the practical applications we learn and use. These skills help us develop and trust our intuition, one of our greatest gifts. In this class, we will explore ceremonial techniques, oracular tools for personal use, such as reading tea leaves and Tarot, and simple ways to work with dried herbs to enhance our state of being.
Come to this class with:
1. a journal and pen
2. elemental representations for an altar, such as a stone for earth, a feather for air, a candle for fire, a vessel for water, and anything that speaks to you of spirit for the center.
3. prepare a pot of tea using loose leaves
4. your favorite teacup and saucer (no mugs, please)
5. your oracle cards or tarots cards, if you have any
6. a bowl of your favorite aromatic dried herb
Join us for an afternoon of delving deep into the skills of the Herbal Mystic!

This workshop invites you into a safe and nourishing cauldron of writing energy, where words evoke healing. Together we will engage our health through meditation, breath, and writing practices that cultivate fortitude, strength, and gratitude. We will explore what health truly means—listening closely to the wisdom of our bodies. Through guided prompts, we’ll dialogue with our herbal allies, body parts, organs, illnesses, symptoms, caretakers, even our pain and discomfort—recognizing them as teachers. This workshop offers a crucible where survival wisdom can crystallize, no matter the challenges. Bring a notebook and a pen you love to write with.
You will experience:
· Writing as a way to deepen your healing process
· Dialogues with body parts, symptoms, or plant allies
· A pause from ordinary time to listen inward
· Spontaneous timed writing that captures raw truths
· A supportive space to be vulnerable, witnessed, and surprised by what emerges
· Slowing down to allow what is deeper to surface

Join Ellen as she presents a slideshow and talk about trees that are easily found in North America, and a discussion of their medicinal properties, mythology, magical, and spiritual significance. This talk will be particularly useful for shamanic practitioners, who will learn the different personalities of the trees and what can be learned from communicating with them. The focus is weighted towards Celtic lore, but there are mentions of Native American beliefs, Siberian religion, Norse tradition, and Ellen's own personal experiences.
Join herbalist Linda Conroy for an afternoon of calm and connection. We will begin our time together with a guided meditation, followed by a talking circle, which will help to shape the workshop experience. We will explore herbs, food and activities that support restful sleep, reduce anxiety, help your body adapt to stress and nourish the nervous system. Strategies for bringing these into your daily life will also be discussed. We will learn about the wide spectrum of herbs that are called nervines and identify their unique expressions, so that we can determine their applications. Another important category of herbs are Adaptogens. We will learn about their origins, identify their unique qualities and discuss each of their applications. The food we ingest can be calming and engaging to our senses, or stimulate a stress response. We will discuss foods, topical applications, sleep rituals and more.
