We will be talking about the work that Max has been doing since 1970, archiving women's history. We will also be discussing the inspiration for her work and surprising things she has learned along the way. Max will share highlights about her upcoming presentation as part of the Midwest Women's Herbal In Our Own Hands: Women's Wellness Series.
As a background for this discussion, The work that Max Dashu is doing is unique. She is a historian gathering information that is usually left out in dominant accounts of history. Max is the author of 3 books, and has created the Suppressed Histories Archives. This collection includes 15,000 slides and 30,000 digital images. Since 1973, she has delivered presentations on women's history and the role women have played in cultures around the world. All workshops in the In Our Own Hands Women's Wellness series are held virtually via Zoom and are three hours in length, every other Saturday beginning in January 2025. Max will present Pagan Herbal Traditions of Europe on February 15th, 2025.

Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to research and document women's history globally, from the most ancient times to the present. She teaches with images from the cultural record, and is internationally known for her expertise on goddess iconography, matricultures and female spheres of power; medicine women, witches, and the witch hunts; and how patriarchy, conquest, and systems of domination develop and intertwine. www.suppressedhistories.net
